A NEW Facebook page has been set up to signpost victims of domestic abuse to organisations which can offer them support.

True Soul Survivors has been created by a Worcester woman in the hopes that it will help women and men who are suffering or have suffered from abuse from a spouse or partner.

She said: “Hopefully, it will help anyone, not just women, who are currently in or have been in a situation where there’s domestic violence.

“We’re not here to counsel people, we want people to know this is the Facebook page and there are all sorts of places can go for help.

“Most people use Facebook so it is an easy way to spread the word about the help available.

“It’s a lifeline.”

The woman set up the page following her own experiences and said she had already been contacted by people through private message looking for help.

She pointed out that on average the police receive an emergency call relating to domestic abuse every 30 seconds.

The page will also share articles and advice to help boost people’s self esteem.

The facebook page can be found at facebook.com/truesoulsurvivors.

Alternatively, call the 24-hour National Domestic Violence freephone helpline on 0808 2000 247
